August 2012, five church congregations of the Tillamook Ecumenical Community, Sacred Heart Roman Catholic, St. Alban's Episcopal, St. John's United Church of Christ, St. Peter Lutheran and Tillamook United Methodist, hosted a group of mainly college students participating in the "4K for Cancer" ride from Baltamore, MD to Portland, OR. Members of the five congregations provided lodging, dinner and breakfast for the cyclists. Pastor Jerry, the distinguished looking gentleman with the gray(ing) hair in the top photo, road a short way with the 4K riders as they departed Tillamook. This is the second year we've hosted this group as they approach the end of their ride. Although we may be the hosts, we get more from this great group of "kids" than they get from us.
August 2013 - we were honored to again host the 4K for Cancer cyclists. Again, a great group!
